Favorite Season

Although I claim to love autumn the best,

With its crisp night air and

Warm color on the trees

Those around me will say spring is

My favorite season as the snow melts away

And the green starts to appear.

It is not spring until

I can smell the earth,

Have it beneath my fingernails.
