Waiting
by Lauraine Alberetti Lombara
We wait to be born,
We wait to die,
We wait for seasons,
Moonglow and sunrise.
When Mary waited for Jesus’ birth,
The shepherds waited for signs from earth.
The Magi waited for stars in the sky,
We wait for redemption to save our lives.
There are times for waiting or moving on,
When life arrives, revealing dawn.
Our laughter rings the sound of joy;
Magical words: It’s a girl! It’s a boy!
